Biography

Michelle received her Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she studied with Howard Karp and Christopher Taylor.  After graduating, she taught on faculty at Eastern Mediterranean University in North Cyprus, while also teaching private lessons through the EMU Community Music School.  She served as choral conductor to the University Choir and musical conductor.  Upon moving back the United States, Michelle taught piano at The Music Clubhouse in Lawrence, Kansas.  She is currently owner of Rautmann Studio of Music in downtown St. Joseph, MO, while serving as President of the St. Joseph Area Music Teachers association.  Michelle serves as an adjunct faculty member at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS where she teaches applied piano.  She was a featured Concerto soloist for the Benedictine College Orchestra. In 2018, she was the inaugural Phil Welch Stadium  organist for the St. Joseph Mustangs Baseball club.  She continues to perform two piano ensembles with her husband, Nathanael May and serves as Treasurer of the Board for soundSCAPE Music Exchange (Italy).

 

Violinist Kelsei Peppars, is an avid performer throughout Missouri. She has appeared as an orchestral musician with groups as the Saint Joseph Symphony, the Benedictine University Orchestra, Robidoux Resident Theater, and Western Playhouse. In addition, she has been invited to play for congressional leaders and lobbyists at the Missouri State Capital. She has studied with Rico McNeela and has taken master classes with the renowned concert master of the Metropolitan Opera, Arturo Delmoni. Her solo repertoire ranges from theatrical works by Schöenberg and Debussy to the dramatic works of Shastakowich and Vitali. Ms. Peppars has significant performance experience in chamber settings, ranging from duos to quintets. She is also a performer of theatrical repertoire as well, recently starring as “the Fiddler” in Western Playhouse’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof” (2016). She has been the concert master of, and principal of many musical and opera productions over the past seven years, as well. 

Kelsei is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Business and Performance at Missouri Western State University, with minors in both French and Business. She is a member of the undergraduate piano trio and quartet, giving performances throughout the semester at various receptions, galas, and special events, including formal concerts. Kelsei is also a devoted member of her church, Faith Valley Church of God, where she sings and plays violin and piano.
